Mortimer's Memory Makers: Summer 2010 Rewind

I thought my first post would be to wrap up the summer we've had. And a busy one it was. I'm starting on July third since that is where my camera card starts!

Abby was baptized by her dad on July third. We are very proud of her. We had a BBQ after at our house. Aunt Lisa made her dress. It is WAY cute. WE are very grateful for all the family and friends who took the time to come and share in Abby's special day.

We had lots of things going that weekend. After the baptism Tom's best friend from growing up, Kasey Mitchell and his family came to spend a few days with us while Kasey's mom had surgery. It was great to catch up and watch our kids play together. Kasey introduced Tom and I when we were in high school, so actually all this is his doing!

On the fourth our friends, the Whitings came over. The three families played some games, ate, and made fools out of ourselves with "stupid human tricks". Some of the neighborhood kids came over too. When it got dark we got on the roof to watch the fireworks. It was a great night.

On the fifth, Carol and Matt and Andy and Kandice and their families came down for the annual Mortimer fireworks show. The kids had fun running around together.

The next weekend (July 8-10) we went to Bear Lake with the Millers. Mom and Dad, Tom, Lisa, and our family went. We stayed at Emmigration campground. We went to the lake one day and spent time playing games and hanging out. Tom couldn't come the first day because he had to work so I went with the kids. The trailer batteries died and I had a short reminder of how things were camping without power and the stove. I'm VERY grateful we have the trailer. I would not be a good pioneer. We love Bear Lake and had a lot of fun there. I wish more of the family could have come.

The rest of Julywas spent at scout camp (Nate and Tom), picking raspberries at Grandma's, a trip to Lagoon, a trip to Ross park swimming, High Adventure and having our cousin James Heiman come stay a week with us. Here are some highlights.
